Yeats, William Butler (1865-1939)

William Butler Yeats was an Irish poet and dramatist. He founded the Abbey Theatre in Dublin.


Yerkes, Robert M(earns) (1876-1956)

Robert M(earns) Yerkes was an American biologist and psychologist. He was a pioneer in the comparative study of apes, the development of methods to test the abilities of animals and humans. From 1919 to 1941 he was the director of the Yerkes Laboratories of Primate Biology at Yale University. He wrote 'The Mind of a Gorilla' and 'Chimpanzees: A Laboratory Colony'.


Young, (Denton True) "Cy" (1867-1955)

Denton True "Cy" Young was an American baseball player. He was game's top pitcher with 511 victories. Cy played for five major league teams between 1890 and 1911. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937.


Young, Thomas (1773-1829)

Thomas Young was an English physicist and physician. He carried out pioneer work in the accommodation of the eye and detailed the cause of astigmatism. Also, he described the characterization of elasticity that came to be known as Young's modulus of elasticity.
